CMT/CAA Produces Unique “Love is Love”
I attended the opening night performance of LOVE IS LOVE a cabaret of love songs from Broadway produced by Cincinnati Music Theatre in conjunction with the Cincinnati Arts Association. This unique experience featured a line up of vocalists telling various stories through song, but also a very nice cheese and fruit plate and a drink ticket (and cash bar) that was accessible throughout the show.
Skip Fenker directs seven vocalists through this 90-minute revue of popular and not-so-well-known Broadway songs. Brian Anderson, Luka Ashley Carter, Wayne Wright, Pamela Kay Day, Mary Puetz, Katelyn Reid, and Bree Hunter Cox perform solos, duets, and a few group numbers with the accompaniment from a lovely four-piece band.
Cincinnati Music Theatre is a community theatre organization, albeit an ambitious one. This particular production sold so many tickets before it opened that they added another night’s performance!
