Moveable Feast – What a Treat!
I attended this year’s Moveable Feast event at CCM and had a terrific time. The audience was treated to a special performance by Christy Altomare as she prepares to open “Anastasia” on Broadway. Altomare starred as “Wendell” in the National Tour of Spring Awakening, a show I credit as my first real theater-awakening. I didn’t get a chance to tell her how she and the rest of her cast have shaped my life since then I still remember being in awe of that production.
I spent my time enjoying the Freshman musical theatre majors followed by the Seniors, before I found the BBQ Chicken sliders and Mac and Cheese offerings. I caught the Acting showcase and then wrapped up with the Jazz Ensemble’s rousing performance, which also featured musical theatre students in a number choreographed by Diane Lala.
While the performances are always stellar, for me its the chance to interact with so many different people at this event that makes it special. I had pleasant conversations with instructors and faculty members like Kimberly De Acha, Aubrey Berg, Julie Spangler, Rocco and Denise Del Vara, as well as several students and other CCM supporters. Everyone turns out in force to celebrate the arts and CCM.
Here’s a few photos from the event. You can see all of my photos here. (Special thanks to Curt Whitacre, Director of Marketing and Communications, for his consistent and above-and-beyond assistance.). Up next at CCM: HER NAKED SKIN (Acting) and MACK AND MABEL (Musical Theatre).
