July Theatre Tidbits
Hello everyone! Since Fringe ended, things have been fairly quiet but there are a few things I want to bring your attention to going on this summer.
First, Torie Wiggins and Diogenes Theatre Company have revived TWILIGHT: LOS ANGELES, 1992. This time they are presenting it at Know Theatre at 1120 Jackson Street. This timely one-woman show tells stories from the LA riots in 1992. Wiggins is remarkable in it. Tickets and more info can be found here.
Also this week is another performance of SHE’S CRAZY: MENTAL HEALTH AND OTHER MYTHS starring Sherry and Erin McCamley and Cathy Springfield. I’ve not seen the show since Erin joined the cast but it’s on my to do list. (I’ll be on an EPIC ROAD TRIP ADVENTURE to see SHREK at PCLO this weekend, unfortunately). One night only this Friday; Tickets are only $10 and are available at the door at Falcon Theatre at 636 Monmouth Street.
Speaking of Falcon, do not forget to get your tickets to Cincinnati LAB Theatre’s FESTIVAL OF NEW WORKS opening August 4th. My first full-length play, CHASE THE DRAGON, opens that night. Elizabeth a. Harris’s new play, JUDAS, opens the following. Look for more info soon but tickets are on sale now. Plus there’s readings of new plays by Brian Griffin and Valetta Anderson and some free lectures, as well. More information can be found at Falcon’s site.
Finally, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will present ALL THE GREAT BOOKS (Abridged) opening this week and continuing through August 13th. Miranda McGee, Justin McCombs, and Geoffrey Warren Barnes star. Tickets and more can be found here.
There’s a lot happening around town so make sure you stay tuned to Rob Bucher’s BEHIND THE CURTAIN CINCINNATI for all the latest theatre news in town.
I hope to see you the first weekend in August!
